RCA Look To Bounce Back From Late Defeat

RCA’s first team have a quick opportunity to bounce back from the agony of their late defeat against Carlisle City on Tuesday night when they welcome play-off contenders West Auckland Town to the Sunderland LGV Park this evening (Fri Feb 23rd, 7.30 pm). Auckland arrive in third place in the table, just one place and one point better off than Tuesday night’s visitors.

The corresponding fixture back in October was Dom Jones first match as Interim Manager following Dave Dickson’s departure. After Usman Ogidan levelled the home sides opener, it looked as if we might take something from the game. However despite a dominant second half performance we came out on the wrong end of a 3-1 defeat. The match marked a turning point for the hosts, as they used the victory to trigger a great run of form that has put them in contention for a promotion place.

The injury late in Tuesday’s defeat to Joshua Perestrelo-Teixeira sees him ruled out for tonight’s game, but there is better news on Liam Robson who makes an earlier than expected return from Injury to join the squad. Reece McEwan is also set to finally make his debut for the club following his recent signing.

The match is confirmed as on following a provisional pitch inspection this morning. However please note that due to doubts over the game yesterday we will be unable to open Rani’s Curry House this evening. Hot food and drinks will, of course, still be available in Defty’s Diner as usual. And if you can’t make the match you can of course follow the progress on our social media.
