First Team Squad

Andy Coulson, Goalkeeper

Andy has signed on a dual registration from Hebburn Town FC. He has experience of Northern League Division 1 having played for West Auckland, Shildon and Northallerton. He comes highly recommended by RCA favourite Carl Morris who says of him, “he is a great shot stopper and possesses excellent distribution skills”.

Keigan Turns, Defender/Midfield

Joined RCA last season after a spell at Esh Winning, having previously also played for Ryton & Crawcrook Albion. Very committed and hard working player who was an integral part of the side in the run-in at the back end of last season.

Dylan Currie

A youngster brought in as cover for our forwards, a quick forward who is not afraid to put defenders under pressure. He is tenacious in the tackle and is willing to play anywhere to help out the team.

Ethan Day, Defender

Talented up and coming teenage defender signed from Brandon United. A product of the successful Gateshead Academy. Ethan reads the game well and is a one to watch.

Paul Jacques, Winger,

Paul has signed from Brandon, a baptism of fire for his debut against Heaton Stannington. A pacy winger with a decent cross definitely one for the future.

Joshua Perestrelo-Teixeira, Defender

Accomplished defender or midfielder previously on the books at Washington and Ryton & Crawcrook Albion. Very assured on the ball. quick to read situations and is capable of changing a game when going forward.

Kye Purvis, Striker

Kye is a product of our reserve team and has stepped up on a number of occasions this season and does not look out of place. Needs to temper his natural aggression and calm down a little and he will undoubtedly become a regular first team player.

Reece McEwan, Midfielder

Reece has signed from near neighbours Seaham Red Star, he is a winger who can operate on either wing. Plenty of pace and possesses a wicked cross he also pops up with the odd goal.

Daniel Maw, Defender/Midfielder

Another great prospect who is also part of the Darlington FC Academy set-up. Has already delivered performances of great maturity for his age.

Ashley Davis, Forward

Vastly experienced striker returning for a third spell at the Sunderland LGV Park. Has scored 9 goals in 59 appearances in his previous spells. Previously on the books at South Shields, Whitley Bay and Sunderland West End. 

Jackson Ward, Forward

Joined in the Summer from Whitley Bay, for whom he excelled in their home league game against us last season. Can play up top (despite his height) or out wide and scored in his second appearance for the side against Horden CW in the Robert Alderson Trophy Final.

Alberto Dumba, Defender

Lightning fast defender or midfielder who made his debut in Dave Dickson’s final game as manager against Northallerton Town. Will frighten defenders with his pace and crossing ability.

Cameron McHarg, Defender

Centre back who was a part of the Newcastle Blue Star side who swept all before them in the Northern Alliance last season. Made his RCA debut in the 2-1 pre-season victory against Esh Winning. Is Captain of the team and has matured into a strong central defender. Good in the air he reads the game well and is a presence at the back.

Usman Ogidan, Striker

Powerful and strong front man who made his debut in the away game with Guisborough Town this season. previously on the books at West Ham United and Morpeth Town. Has the ability and talent to become an excellent striker. He needs to control his aggression and centre it on scoring goals.

 

Sam Walton, Midfielder

Recently returned from a successful period in America. A dynamic utility player who is equally at home in midfield or in defence. sustained a groin injury which has kept him out in recent weeks. Sam has bags of talent and his experience will undoubtedly rub off on the younger players.

Adam Lennox, Midfielder.

Adam signed from Tow Law Town, A midfield workhorse who gives 100% in every game. He is quick thinking and can open up opposition defence’s with precision passes. a young talent who continues to impress.

Matthew Arnell, Striker.

Signed from Willington, is an experienced forward. A tall player who has played at various levels in football and who is looking to get his appetite back for the game.

Adam Beattie, Defender

Adam signed from Brandon where he was captain, a left sided defender he is a good tackler, reads the game well and likes to get forward to help out with attacking options.

Jason Chanayire, Midfielder / Defender

Jason was signed earlier in the season from Birtley Town, a crowd favourite he is exciting to watch and there is an expectation when he gets on the ball. Converted to the right back position he has found extra space and makes excellent use of it. A good tackler and reader of the game he also possesses a good range of passing.

Ethan Chatt, Defender

Recently Signed Ethan is a young Central defender who is good in the air, his command of situations belies his age and he shows a high level of maturity for someone so young. A one to watch in the future.

Kevan Garrett, Midfielder

Keven is a tenacious central midfielder, loves to tackle and is very pacy. An experienced player he will bring grit and steel to the midfield.

Jamie Nash, Midfielder / Forward

Jamie has signed from Whickham. A clever player who is equally at home on the wing or playing as the number 10. Started his time at RCA with a brace of goals on his debut against West Auckland Town. He is a player who will relish the cut and thrust of the first division.

Joshua Nelson, Defender

Joshua sustained and injury when playing against Redcar Athletic which has kept him out of the team. We have obviously not seen the best of him as he has not had enough game time to asses his potential.

Harrison Scott, Midfielder

Harrison has signed from Brandon United. Since signing he has been on holiday but returns in time for the final matches of the season. He is a former professional whose previous clubs include Darlington, Hartlepool, Bury, Falkirk, and Sunderland before joining non-league side Spennymoor United. His experience and knowledge will help the younger members of the squad immensely, whilst his ability on the pitch will give the team the boost that it needs.
