Reserves Start League Campaign Today

New signing Dylan King bagged two goals last weekend

Sunderland RCA Reserves kick off their Wearside League Division One campaign this afternoon with a trip to the Dean Bank Recreation Park to take on Ferryhill Athletic (2.30 pm). This will be a tough season for Dom Jones side following their unexpected promotion this campaign due to a league restructure. As well as facing all of the top sides from their own league last season, they will also face off against the clubs in what was already a strong line-up in the leagues second tier. There are lots of good sides in the divsion, but one definitely to watch is the rejuvenated Durham City. The former Northern League club seem to have put their recent troubles behind them and have had a strong pre-season, competing well against several clubs from higher levels. Jones has added two more signings to bolster his squad ahead of the big kick-off. Dylan King (pictured above) is a left winger who is the younger brother of Lewis King. He scored twice on his debut as a trialist in last weeks 5-4 win over Newton Aycliffe YFC. Also signing this week is Dylan Wood, who moves across from fellow Wearside League outfit Roseberry Park.
