RCA’s first team were denied their first win of the season at the Sunderland LGV Park today as Reece Havelock-Brown struck an equaliser four minutes into added time to prevent RCA taking the three points. It was rough justice on the home side, who led at the interval through a superb Alex Fil strike but then had to battle for 34 minutes with ten men after Chris Trewick was shown a straight red. Despite their reduced numbers, RCA spurned several opportunities to make the game safe playing down the hill in the second half, including two that fell to lively new signing Jason Chanayire (pictured above) who had a promising debut. The point lifts RCA off the foot of the Ebac League Division One table but they will be left rueing the missed chances that made the final whistle feel like a defeat rather than the first point gained.
